German Bernardo
German Bernardo came to Miskolc in 2010 to teach mathematics in Spanish at Herman Otto Gimnázium. The interview was one of three conducted in the autumn of 2016 by second-year students enrolled in a writing class here at the university.
Hacer Tas
Many Erasmus students come to study in Miskolc for a semester, but Hacer Tas liked it here so much, she stayed for a full academic year. The interview was done over the internet in 2016.
Asim Aziz
Asim Aziz lives and works in Great Britain, but is married to a Hungarian. He was interviewed via internet in the autumn of 2016.
Sean Toth
As his name indicates, Sean Toth is of Hungarian extraction. He grew up in the US, but taught for a time in Miskolc. The interview was conducted in 2013.
Rina Taira
This interview with Rina Taira is he first of a number of interviews conducted in the autumn semester of 2012. Rina is an exchange student from Japan at the University of Miskolc.
Robin Nagano
Our interview with Robin Nagano, who teaches English in the Foreign Language Learning Center (IOK) at the University of Miskolc, was published in 2011. The interview was conducted in 2010.
Ben Scott
The interview for September/October 2011 is a man from Newcastle upon Tyne who now lives in Miskolc. Ben Scott is a musician and works currently at Hewlett Packard. The interview was conducted over the Internet, via chat.
Jeremy Parrott
Originally from Great Britian, Jeremy Parrott works for the English Department at the University of Szeged, where he has been teaching courses ranging from EFL Methodology to literary biography for more than ten years now. He is also an avid book collector. The interview was originally conducted in 2010.
Eva Teshajev
One of the newest faces in the Institute has actually been at the unviersity for a few years. Originally from Germany, Eva Teshajev came to Miskolc to teach German in the Foreign Language Learning Center (IOK), but now teaches courses in the German and translating programs at the Modern Philology Institute.
Dr. Margaret Manchester
For the spring semester, 2009, the English department is honored to have Dr. Margaret Manchester teaching a class on the Cold War. Dr. Manchester is a visiting Fulbright professor from Providence, Rhode Island, where she teaches history. This semester she comes to Miskolc every Wednesday from Debrecen, where she teaches two other history classes.
Magda Goraj
A university student in Krosno, Poland, Magda Goraj spent the fall semester of 2007 in Miskolc. The following interview was conducted in November 2007 by Emma Szabó.
Dr. Colin Swatridge
Living in Great Britain most of the year, Dr. Swatridge has been coming every autumn to the English Department to offer courses in British Civilization, Academic Writing, and Critical Thinking since 1998. He's is the author of numerous publications, including a book on Hungary, A Country Full of Aliens (2005), published by Corvina. An excerpt from the book can be read here at the Coffee Break. The following interview was held in December 2007 during his most recent visit. His next visit is scheduled for late February.
